35.2.1 ACTIVATE-BSSU

Individual modules are activated, i.e. any ’manual blocking’ status is removed. Hierarchically subordinate trunks and terminals are also activated.
Before a module is activated, its status is checked. If it is manually blocked, the block is removed.
If a pre-blocking is in effect for the module to be activated, the activate job removes the pre-blocking.
Activation can be carried out:

with conditional loading
•
with unconditional loading
•
without loading
In the case of an activate job with conditional loading, the trunk circuit data is only loaded when necessary.
After the activate job is executed, a message is output supplying information regarding the switching state achieved. The message does not specify whether or not the deactivated module had been manually blocked before the deactivate job.
Voice Compression
If the board to be activated is partner of a voice compression connection, the according VCM board will be activated automatically and the message H30 will be displayed.
STMI2-HFA boards
The AMO performs the activation (bring-into-service) action of a STMI2-HFA board from which IP terminals have been automatically switched from. Because of a board error, either
–
without switching back the IP terminals
–
with switching back the IP terminals
This command is called after the defective board has been replaced by a board which is expected to be O.K.
HFASW = IPSTNBCK : AMO switchs (reconfigures) back the IP terminals which had been originally configured at the specified board and activates the specified board. The DC state of the specified (standby) board must be MAN_AMO/DEF, where the destination board ( from which the IP terminals are switched from ) must be DEF or READY.
HFASW = STBYRDY : AMO activates the specified board and changes its Standby Mode from ...STDBY_DEF to ...STDBY_READY.
HFASW = NONE : AMO just activates the STMI2-HFA board .
HFASW parameter is only valid for STMI2-HFA board, for the rest of the boards this parameter is ignored.

Example
The module at LTG 1, LTU 2, SLOT 25 is to be activated with conditional loading.

(The module is not operational since it is hierarchically blocked (UNACH) and not present (NPR). Any existing manual block was removed.)
