Parameter Description
 
This AMO is used for the administration of the data for cabinet and frame configuration of a system. This data describes the physical layout and terminal configuration of the system.
System Configuration Table
The system configuration data is stored in the system configuration table. It contains the following information:
per cabinet:
•
cabinet name
•
cabinet address
per shelf:
•
frame name
•
perhaps the LTU number (for frames of the SWU periphery)
•
perhaps the processor identification for central shelves
Mounting levels which are not occupied are indicated by a dummy character. Each cabinet name or frame name stored in the table must have been previously defined in the appropriate type files.

Cabinet type and frame type files
The cabinet type and frame type files are produced as non-resident subsystems (similar to the UBGDAT). They must be explicitly loaded into the RAM with LOAD_OVERLAY if the user wishes to access them directly; usually, however, they are accessed indirectly on the hard disk. They contain all valid cabinet type and frame type names. This data can only be changed with a patch during operation; administration of the files with the aid of AMOs is not provided for, since changes to the contents are rarely necessary (i.e. only when a new frame type or cabinet type is implemented). The two subsystems are updated by updating the CHILL source code.

Frame type file
The division of the cabinets into shelves is illustrated in the Service Manual in the "Hardware Survey" chapter. This chapter also contains a list of possible shelves.
From the variant HICOM Unity 1.0 the handling of cabinets and shelfes have a particularity. The LTU range is divided in two parts: HHS (HICOM Host System) and AP (Access Point). The available values of the ranges are: HHS 1-15 and AP 17-99. The LTU 16 is forbidden. There are existing shelfes which are allowed only in HHS and others which are allowed only in the AP range.
The actions ADD and CHANGE internally test the validity of the entered LTU number (examples see later).
The names of cabs and frames are also used in the AMO specific files. Differences are just there:
•
where different frames or cabinets have one official name (e.g. LTUS-Compact = LTUSC)
•
where the same frames are configurated in different system variants (e.g. CCM-frame in HICOM 3000E = CCME)
•
where the official name is longer than 8 characters (e.g. CAB300EC1 = C3000EC1).
Which cabinet- and frame types are possible in a system? The classification of a switch (H80, H180, H600, ...) and the type of HW (noncompact, compact, ...) restricted the possible types of cabinets and frames.
The function DISPLAY-CONSY is helpful to get information about the permitted cabinet- and frame types.
