78.7 Displaying and Modifying of File Contents: E & DUMP & PATCH

78.7.1 E: Assigning a File for processing the File Contents

Files which are to be processed with the DUMP command or PATCH command have to be assigned first by using this command.

If a file with the same name has already been assigned as a hard disk backup area, it cannot be opened a second time. In this case the displayer AMO will respond with the error message F16. However users are permitted to use the E-command to repeatedly open different files for subsequent processing during the same displayer dialog session.

Command Syntax

E,filename;

The specified file must already exist.
