195.4.2.5 Displaying and Storing of Trace-Data (DISPLAY, DA, DB, DF, DL, DN, COPY)

Data stored in the tracebuffer can be displayed at any time (also while the Tracer is still running) with the following commands: DF, DL, DA, DB and DN. If data without time stamps will be displayed, the commands DF-T, DL-T, DA-T, DB-T, and DN-T are available.

In order to display data from a Harddisk-Tracing-Session it is necessary to assign the file to the output with DISPLAY,STDTR or DISPLAY,FILE,"filename". The status of the trace file listed in detail. From now the whole trace file is handled with regard to the output commands (DA, DB, DF, DL, DN, DF-T, DL-T, DA-T, DB-T, DN-T) like a huge single trace buffer. If "*" is entered instead of the file name, the last filename, which has been used in the command ON or DISPLAY, will be inserted. The assignment of the file for output is detached throug the command DISPLAY,OFF.

Output of trace objects

from the position of the read pointer, with DA (or DA-T) (display after read pointer)

up to the position of the read pointer, with DB (or DB-T) (display before read pointer)

the first <n> trace objects, with DF (or DF-T) (display first)

the last <n> trace objects, with DL (or DL-T) (display last)

from one specific object number to another or the next 10 objects starting with a specific object number, with DN (or DN-T) (display from number)

After each display command is executed, the read pointer points refers to the trace object following the last displayed trace object. If there are no more trace objects, it stops at the position of the write pointer.

Following the output of a brief status report with command STA, the read pointer is at the first available data record in the trace buffer if the pointer was previously invalid.

Options for reading out the trace buffer

A post-selection is provided for all the above display commands:

If requested, only certain types of trace objects are output. Note that the defaultvalue of the parameter TYPE is OS and not ALL.

In addition, by specifying values for any byte the output of trace objects can be restricted.
As an alternative to the specification of values for a single byte directly in the display command, up to 8 selection conditions can be defined (command SELMSG,BUF,..?), which can be applied to the current display command by specifying value SELMSG for parameter TEST. (Since these selection conditions are stored in the AMO data, they are only available until termination of the AMO). With the command copy the selection criterions can be stored in a file.

The post-selection is not put into effect when reading out all trace buffer entries (TYPE=ALL).

The parameter LAE determines a maximum output length for all trace objects to be displayed.

Example:


SELMSG,BUF,G1,CD1,SRC,34;	every single object betw. nr. 100 and 200,
SELMSG,BUF,G1,CD2,DEST,E5;	which meets the conditions CD1 and CD2 is
DN,100-200,10,ALL,,,SELMSG;	going to be displayed

It is also possible to store tracedata, which has been traced to the tracebuffer. This is done with the command COPY,STDTR,"filename". To display a file you can use the command DISPLAY.
