3.7.1. Feature Description 
An optional survivability unit can transform a OpenScape 4000 SoftGate
into a survivable access point.

The survivability unit takes over control of its own OpenScape 4000
SoftGate and every other selected IP Access Point/OpenScape 4000 SoftGate
without its own survivability unit if the central control fails (through
loss of the IP connection to the central control or a call control failure).
The synchronization of the APE is done with OpenScape 4000 Assistant
> Backup & Restore.
