The digital MFC-R2 line signaling version described by ITU-T Q.400-Q490 can be configured in OpenScape Access/Branch with the OpenScape Access PRI module.
The DIUT board must be configured in E1/CAS functionality (FCTID=2), for example
ADD-BCSU:MTYPE=DIU,LTG=1,LTU=19,SLOT=3,PARTNO="Q2335-X",LWVAR=0,FCTID=2,HWYBDL=A,ALARMNO=0,MACADDR=00-1A-E8-32-60-5E,TDMLAW=0;
Additionally, a vSIUX2 must be configured. Configuration of vSIUX2 is the same as for standard SIUX2 boards. MFC-R2 functionality is selected by configuring the Q2341-X function ID3. Within the ID3 function, vSIUX only provides a MFC subset of R2, i.e. MFC-R2 forward and backward functionality (other MFC variants such as R1, SOCOTEL or MFP are not supported).
Depending on the configuration, you can set up a maximum of 8 MFC-R2 signal receivers and MFC signal transmitters on this. These always operate in pairs and the configuration is also always in pairs, for example
ADD-BCSU:MTYPE=SIUP,LTG=1,LTU=19,SLOT=5,PARTNO="Q2341-X", MFCTYPE=R2B&R2B&R2F&R2F&R2F&R2F&R2F&R2F,LWVAR=0,FCTID=3;
is the configuration for 2 backward signal transmitters (which includes 2 forward receivers) and 6 forward transmitters (which includes 6 backward receivers).
Other SIUX functionality (e.g. DTMF, ANI,…) is not implemented in vSIUX2. If it is configured by AMO, the board remains unavailable.
IMPORTANT:
Initialization can be performed in an active system but will only be activated when the shelf has been reloaded (AMO USSU). There is no indication from AMO BCSU that a restart has to be performed.

Initialization of MFC signals

A default initialization of MFC signals (frequency and attenuation) is performed in vSIUX2 code. The frequency of all signals is defined according to Q.441 of ITU-T Q.400-Q490, attenuation is set to -8dBm0.
It is possible for national applications to provide special signal definitions by means of special initialization files. By default there are three different files on the system's hard disk.
  • APSP/LTG/LG25/PZJSMFD0 is the initialization file for default signals, A-law
  • APSP/LTG/LG25/PZJSMFD1 is the initialization file for default signals, µ-law
  • APSP/LTG/LG25/PZJSMFD2 is the initialization file for signals for Brazil (A-law, -13dmB0)
The initialization file can be selected by AMO ZAND, for example
  1. CHANGE-ZAND:TYPE=SIUXPER,LEVMFC=2; for Brazil
    Initialization file 0 is selected by default. In addition to the signal description, the file also indicates which HWY/TSL is to be used for which line on SIUX.
