18.4.1. SPE Root Certificate Previous topic Parent topic Child topic Next topic

This feature allows you to create your own root certificate which is used to sign all SPE certificates generated by SPE Certificate feature and to download it directly from the user interface.
The goal of this feature is to have all SPE certificates within a HiPath 4000/OpenScape network signed by just one root certificate (CA).
A root certificate is a special type of self signed certificate.
The main difference is that a root certificate is a CA certificate and therefore may be used to sign other certificates.
