28.4.2 CHANGE-BDAT

This function can be used to modify the previously added module data.
STMA module data
Only the module data that have been entered as parameters are changed (overwritten) in the DB. Unentered module data remains unchanged.

The following points apply when changing global module data:
–
The global parameters (L1MODE, ATMPROT, REASBUF and VCIOFS0-7) cannot be changed while the STMA module is activated because this can result in errors in the loadware. The module can be activated and deactivated by means of AMO BSSU.
–
If the circuits of the STMA module have been created earlier a check is made whether the new VCI offsets to be entered match the VCI values of the added circuits1. In the event of an error an error message is output indicating possible remedial action.
–
When the VCI offsets are changed a check is also made against the VCI values of a PSW user. This means specifically:
In the PSW mode the VPI on which the VCI offset is based must not be assigned to a user. If it is, the VCI offset must not be changed.

Checks similar to that performed by the action ADD are carried out for operating mode NW20. Moreover, the following rules should be kept in mind:
–
For entries with device type PVC the VPI/VCI values configured by ADD-TDCSU must remain consistent with the (eventually modified) VCI offsets.
–
The user must be aware that the modification of either the ATM source address or of the numbering plan identifier will effect the whole network configuration. Especially:
–
partner nodes who refer to the given ATM address as a target address must also change their settings;
–
the network administrator may also be concerned.
–
The ATM address must be unique within all STMA boards in operating mode NW20
After execution of the CHANGE function
–
the added VCI offsets and the associated VCI values for each VPI are output in tabular form within an advisory message and
–
the module data are automatically loaded to the PIT (or to the module) by calling the EXEC function. If loading is unsuccessful an advisory message to this effect is output.
WAML2 module data
The same cross-references exist as for the action ADD. In addition, only added table elements may be changed.
Data for entire networks can be changed uniformly by entering a network mask.
The parameter IPADDR (TC server IP address) of the Global Parameter Table cannot be changed while the WAML2 is activated.
The IP address (parameter IPADDR) of an entry is itself changed by specifying the parameter IPADRNEW.
After the CHANGE function has been executed the WAML2 configuration data are not loaded to the module. Loading can be initiated with the EXEC command.
