35.2.2
DEACTIVATE-BSSU
Individual modules are deactivated, i.e., the status ’manual blocking’ or ’pre-blocking’ is set.
When a module is deactivated, all the hierarchical blocks for subordinate units are also set.
Before a module is deactivated, its status is checked. If the module is in a state that does not permit deactivation, a deactivate job is not issued and, after a corresponding message is sent to the operator, the AMO is terminated.
Two types of deactivate jobs are possible:
Deactivate jobs with pre-blocking, i.e. existing connections are not released.
Deactivate jobs without pre-blocking, i.e., without regard for existing connections.
The operator receives an advisory message to say that the switching job is executed. The message does not specify whether or not the deactivated module had been manually blocked.
If the current reference clock generator is on the module(s) to be deactivated, and there are other reference clock generators available outside the specified range, the optional parameter REFOFF is prompted with the advisory H26.
The advisory H27 is prompted if the job affects all reference clock generators. In this case, a prompt is also given if the value YES was specified when the AMO was started.
The operator can determine what the AMO is supposed to do using the values YES or NO for the new parameter REFOFF.
The value YES means that if applicable, the module with the current reference clock generator should also be deactivated.
The value NO means that the module with the current reference clock generator should not be deactivated. In this case, the AMO responds with the advisory H28.
The value PROMPT (default value) means that the parameter should be prompted if the current reference clock generator is within the specified range.
Voice Compression
If the board to be deactivated with OFFTYPE=DC is partner of a voice compression connection, the according VCM board will be deactivated automatically and the message H30 will be displayed.
