Parameter Description
The AMO DUP is used for duplicating a hard disk (HD), magneto-optical disk (MO) or compact flash card (CF) offline.
Requirements
Both devices must be deactivated (for an online duplication the command COPY-
DDRSM
can be used). Since format of modern devices is not more needed, the destination device does not be formatted.
Duplicating
Basically, the AMO DUP consists of two procedures, copying and (optional) verify.
u)
By one order either the complete device or RMX partitions only can be duplicated. If an error occurs during duplication, the copy will be aborted. In this case the operator must restart the AMO DUP.
v)
If the operator requests a comparison of the devices on completion of the duplication job (verify), the contents of the copied device will be compared track by track with the original. If an error occurs during comparison, the job will be aborted and the operator must restart the AMO DUP. In some cases, it may be necessary to replace the destination device.
