Parameter Description
Functions of the AMO
Error Messages and Advisories
The task of this AMO is to administer and add the entries for the customer file "PPCF". It is possible for the user to set up, change or delete a file in accordance with his or her individual wishes.
The task of the file is to define the sequence of organizational units, station numbers and personal numbers and their relation to one another, and to keep them ready for data retrieval.
Up to 3,000 elements may be entered, an element being an organization name (e.g. ’EA’), a station number or a PIN.
An element basically consists of two parts, a
•
name and
•
name identification.
The name consists of alphanumeric characters and can be a maximum of 12 characters in length. The maximum length of the station number is 6 digits.
The name identification tells whether an organizational unit, a station number or a personal number is involved.
The generic term for a customer file is the name PPCF, and it is given the highest rank in the hierarchy (see also Figure 1). It is the same for every customer.
There are four hierarchy levels under the PPCF:
•
ORG1
•
ORG2
•
ORG3
•
T/P
T/P is the hierarchy level for the PP (station) or PIN, and is the lowest level.
The following points should be noted when setting up a customer file:
•
Stations and PINs can stored mixed within an organizational unit.
•
Stations, PINs or an organizational unit which is lower in the hierarchy can be subordinate to an organizational unit.
•
Organizational units can not be subordinate to a T/P level.
•
Organizations names, station numbers and PINs may occur once only in the file, i.e. a station number may be used, for example, as the PP number, but the same designation may be used as a PIN and/or ORG unit.
•
An ORG unit need not necessarily be allocated a station number or PIN.
PPCF (generic term for every file) is assigned the highest hierarchy level.
Directly subordinate to this is the EA department on ORG level 1.
Under EA are departments EA21, EA22 on ORG level 3 and departments EA1, EA2 and EA3 on ORG level 2.
EA21 has two subordinate stations 103 and 105 on the T/P level.
EA22 has no subordinate stations/PINs.
Department EA01 on ORG level 3 is subordinate to EA1.
EA01 has two subordinate stations 109 and 111 on the T/P level.
EA2 has no subordinate units.
PIN 117 on the T/P level is subordinate to EA3.
Using DISPLAY-KDEV, the following printout would result for this example:
ENTRIES FOR ORG PPCF 8 .7 .1999
(1) EA (3) EA21 (T) 103
(1) " (3) " (T) 105
(1) " (3) EA22
(1) " (2) EA1 (3) EA01 (T) 109
(1) " (2) " (3) " (T) 111
(1) " (2) EA2
(1) " (2) EA3 (P) 117
12 ENTRIES IN CDR CUSTOMER FILE (PPCF)
The sequence in the file is from left to right and from top to bottom. The values in parentheses refer to the level.
