DEACTIVATE-PATCH
The specified patches are deactivated. This action is the opposite of the action ACTIVATE. Depending on the DEL parameter (DEL = Y), the patch(es) will be deleted after deactivation.
Note
The activation status of a patch is not significant. The deactivation is performed too, if the patch is not active. Only the "old data" must be available in the patch file.
Deactivate patches with MegaPatch
The patches can be deactivated as single or all together (MegaPatch). The manner of deactivation depends on the activation sign ACTSG. The default value is MEGA. Deactivation by MegaPatch will be used for many patches. The deactivation will be much faster, if their are only patches from one subsystem (or only some few subsystems). All the patches recording to the same subsystem will be picked up and deactivated all at once by using the MegaPatch option (subsystem is copied only once). After deactivating all patches of one subsystem the patches of the next subsystem will be deactivated. Therefore the process is much faster for deactivating many patches.
The single-patch-process deactivates one patch after the other.
Deactivate optional patches
•
The activation flag in the DB is reset during the activation of optional patches. (Formerly done by AMO PSA resp. AMO PSS)
•
Optional Patches are always deactivated on Harddisc and on all available target processors.
•
Optional patches are always deactivated secure and with all checks.
•
Optional patches are always removed from the administration. A copy of the patch remains in the directory ":PDS:OPT/"
•
All patches with the same activation flag and APSSIGN are removed from the administration.
