155.2.1 ADD-RCSU

A new recorder is created by means of the function ADD-RCSU. Parameter PEN (Port Equipment Number) describes the physical port location to be associated with the created recorder. The remaining parameters describe the recorder attributes to be created.

A recorded announcement may be connected to either the SLMA or SLMAB, SLMA3, SLMA24 board. The recorder device must have the RANDOM start bit set for operation mode CONTINUOUS and the FIXED start bit set for operation mode DEMAND.

The following relationships exist in the ’ADD’ command for AMO RCSU between parameters PEN (port equipment number) and NO (number):

Neither parameter ’PEN’ nor ’NO’ is entered:

The AMO searches from the beginning of the system for the first available port suitable for a recorder device. The search is carried out in the Host System and in the Access Points¹ which belong to Sourcre Group SRCGRP=1.
If a suitable port exists, a recorder is created there and the location at which the recorder is created is displayed.

Parameter ’PEN’ is entered, parameter ’NO’ is not entered:

The AMO checks whether the requested port is suitable for recorders. If the check is positive, the recorder is created at the specified port and the location at which the recorder is created is displayed. If for any reason the port is unsuitable, the recorder is not created and an error message is output. No search is made by the AMO for another suitable, available port.

Parameter ’PEN’ is not entered, parameter ’NO’ is entered:

The AMO searches from the beginning to the end of the Host System for as many suitable ports as specified in NO and creates recorders there. All associated ports are output. Free ports are searched only in the Host System.

Both parameter ’PEN’ and parameter ’NO’ are entered:

The AMO searches for as many suitable, to the same Source Group belonging ports as specified in NO and creates recorders. Parameter PEN describes the port at which the search for available ports starts. If PEN is entered and NO=1, the AMO will check if the port is suitable and available. If so, the recorder is created. But if the port fails, the AMO will search to the end of the system for another suitable, available port for this recorder. If a port still is not found, the AMO begins at the first port of the system and searches up to the PEN entered. If no available ports are found, an error message is output.
Only those LTUs are considered during the search which belong to the same Source Group like the PEN entered.
