Activation and Deactivation of the Tracer (ON, OFF)
If no startcondition has been set, the Tracer starts to work immediately after entering the command ON and to write the data into the trace buffer. Any start, stop or stopall condition defined is placed in the waiting state.
While harddisk tracing is activated ("ON,HD,filename,..") every time the tracebuffer is full, the whole content is written into the tracefile. If there is already a tracefile with the same name on HD, it is possible to overwrite this file with OVERWRT: yes (default). If there is no tracefile on hd, the parameter OVERWRT is careless.
Operating mode in principle: As soon as the tracer buffer is full, the HD-writing tracer task store this buffer to the harddisk. While this is in progress tracing will be continued in another trace buffer.
The parameter MAXBLOCK determines the size of the tracefile and therefore also the number of tracebuffers which can be stored in this file (defaultvalue: 10). If WRAP is set to yes, elder data will be overwritten as soon as the file is full. ’WRAP: no’ prevents this. The Tracer keeps on working but the tracebuffer is not copied to the file anymore. The current status of the StandardTrace file can be displayed with "STA,HD;".
If tracing of the StandardTracer to buffer is activated ("ON,BUF" or just "ON;") elder data will be overwritten in case of a full tracebuffer. In other words the wrapping-function is always activated.
If tracing of the StandardTracer to HD is on ("ON,HD,FILENAME,...") a trace buffer pool may be used for temporary storage of tracebuffer (HD-cache).
The command OFF deactivates the StandardTracer. The start, stop, stopall conditions are set to the definition state. When tracing to harddisk was activated also the only partially filled tracebuffer will be, if possible, copied into the trace file.
