In certain countries it is allowed for calls to be monitored either silently or with the injection of a tone. Two features "Silent Monitoring" and "Tone Monitoring" are available for certain class marked stations to enable them to carry out this function. Also stations who are to be Silent/Tone monitored have also to be class marked. As an additional security feature the monitoring stations can be forced to input a PIN prior to executing Silent/Tone monitoring.
