At present the AMO BDAT can be used to administer the data of the STMA¹ and the WAML2² modules. The AMO BDAT is used for adding as well as for modifying, deleting, displaying and regenerating module data and for loading of the data.

The module data are entered in the SWU database and loaded into the module if the correct module is inserted and has been started up.

In scope of feature IPDA (IP Distributed Architecture) the STMA and WAML2 boards can be configured in the Access Points which have the LTU range from 17 to 99 (added by AMO UCSU and BCSU). The Source Group Index (SRCGRP) assigned to the LTU is issued in the header mask at command DISP-LANC.

STMA module

The operating mode of the module to be added is set by means of the parameter FCTID of the AMO BCSU. The FCTID is assigned as follows:

5	NW20: Networking 2.0

The operating mode of the STMA module cannot be changed while it is in operation. In order to change the operating mode it is necessary first to deactivate the module (AMO BSSU) and then reconfigure it (delete then add with AMO BCSU).

In operating mode PSW there are global module data that have to be added in branch TYPE=STMA, OPMODE=GLOBAL. The users connected to the STMA module have to be administered by AMO SBCSU.

In operating mode NW20 the global module data and the operating mode related data are configured in the common parameter branch OPMODE=NW20. The circuits of the STMA module have to be administered by AMO TDCSU.

WAML2 module

The WAML2 module is added with the AMO BCSU. It is necessary to specify FCTID=2 .

The module-specific configuration data for a LAN communication via the WAML2 module can be administered with the AMO BDAT. The AMO BDAT is also used to initiate loading of the data to the WAML2 module.

Global Parameter Table
All generally valid properties for every WAML2 module and the parameters for communication with the TC server (Telecommuting Server) are contained in this table.

Network Interface Table
This table describes the network interface of the WAML2 module. The network mask describes the network connected to the interface.

IP Routing Table
This table contains routing information for the destination IP address of the data package. The next router needed in the network is ascertained on the basis of this table. Entries can be made for an entire network as well as for individual hosts. The table is IP address- oriented and up to 8 different entries can be created.
An entry in the IP routing table is only necessary if the TC server can be reached via a router.

Firewall MAC Address Table
This table contains the assignment of permitted source MAC address to source IP address for packages that are received from the WAML2. The assignment of source IP address to MAC address is IP address-oriented and 4 different entries can be created. If routers are inserted between the WAML2 and the external server, as source MAC address the MAC address of the last router has to be added into the Firewall MAC Address Table.
The MAC address is a worldwide unique hardware address of the Ethernet interface that is permanently encoded on every LAN module during production. The MAC address of the WAML2 can be determined with the verb DISPLAY.

The WAML2 module is not ready for operation with the basic initialization of the tables.

Criteria deciding whether a data transfer is made are the source IP address and the destination IP address of a data package. The MAC firewall function on the WAML2 module is a protection mechanism to prevent the transfer of data packages of unauthorized users and to generate a firewall alarm. The entries in the firewall MAC address table are used for this. The firewall check and the WAML2 network interface are switched on in the Global Parameter Table.

Only one LAN interface can be operated simultaneously at the external LAN. The setting of the desired LAN-HW interface is made in the Global Parameter Table.

The AMO BDAT is not able to check the created tables with the topology of an existing network (e.g. IP addresses) for consistency.
