3.6.1. Feature Description 
The gatekeeper redundancy function for HFA / SIP stations offers a
further option to increase the availability of VoIP terminals in case
of:
- Failure of the connection between SoftGate and the host system
- Failure of the OpenScape 4000 SoftGate server hardware or
- Errors in the SoftGate application software
Starting with V8R2 the gatekeeper redundancy feature also supports a variety of SIP devices. The following SIP devices are supported.- OpenScape Desk Phone CP family (DNSSRV required)
- OpenStage WL3/WL4 Phones
- OpenScape Xpert (DNSSRV required)
- Mediatrix C7 & 4100 Series Gateways
