18.3.6.3.2. Scenario 2: SPE is neither activated on OpenScape 4000 SoftGate nor at host system Previous topic Parent topic Child topic Next topic

The following steps have to be performed for activating SPE for OpenScape 4000 SoftGate.
IMPORTANT:
Please note the sequence!
  1. Please note the sequence! Switch on the host system and all OpenScape 4000 SoftGates configured in the system.
  2. Distribute Master Encryption Key (MEK) via OpenScape 4000 Assistant to all OpenScape 4000 SoftGates. This will

    • configure the MEK in RMX for all OpenScape 4000 SoftGates and
    • transmit the MEK to all OpenScape 4000 SoftGate.
    The MEK must be set first on the vNCUI boards and then on the host system.
    The MEK is configured via OpenScape 4000 Assistant:
    Expert Mode > Gateway Manager > SPE

  3. Check the Progress to see if something has failed.

  4. Once MEKs have been successfully configured for all OpenScape 4000 SoftGates, SPE can be activated.
    The IPDA encryption is activated with AMO SIPCO, parameter IPDAENCR:
    CHANGE-SIPCO:TYPE=SECURITY,IPDAENCR=YES;
    IPDAENCR (YES/NO):
    Signaling and payload encryption for IPDA connections.
    IMPORTANT:
    SPE activation for OpenScape 4000 SoftGate fails when MEKs are not configured for all OpenScape 4000 SoftGate (refer to point 1 to 3).
