The function of the AMO is to administrate the selection groups and the selection tables they contain.
The selection groups contain the data of the output device (base and reserve) the block sizes of the devices, as well as the queue size and the selection tables.
A maximum of 4 selection groups are provided which, in turn, each contain 8 selection tables.
These tables form the basis for determining whether a call detail record is to be output and the device to which it is to be sent.
The selection tables contain the selection features for the individual customers.

If a selection group is in operation, the allocation of a call detail recording code (CRDCODE), an attendant group (ATNDGR) and a communication service (SERVICE) is checked before a call detail record is output. In addition, selection features 1 and 2 (group parameters for AMO- SELG) are checked.
If output is required, i.e. the selection result is positive, the data record is output according to block layout, format (with the exception of NOFORM), and output device. If NOFORM is entered, there is no output (masking out of specific connections).

The selection tables are scanned in ascending order from 1 to 8 in each selection group. If the conditions for output are met in one of the selection tables, scanning is terminated. The call charge data record is processed further in the next selection group (even if the format is NOFORM).

In fast output mode (see AMO-FEACG, value FAST) only the first selection group can be used and the number of possible output devices is restricted.
