CDBR - Customer Data Backup and Restore

Parameter Description
The function of AMO CDBR is to save the configured customer data to a Hicom storage device, like hard disk, cartridge (CT), digital audio tape (DAT) or flash memory (FM). The BS2000 magnetic tape (MT) is not supported. This backup can be done periodically (routine backup) or with an explicit AMO order.
The internal function of the AMO is in that way, that it starts AMO REGEN to save the configuration data to the harddisk. In the next step this resultfile is compressed (when compression type is not none) and copied to the desired device by using AMO COPY. In case of device :NULL: only AMO REGEN will be executed.
The function of parameter ’restore’ is to regain the saved data out of the compressed backup file back to the REGEN resultfile. To generate a new customer database, you have to use AMO GENDB.
Following items can be changed using AMO CDBR:
•
Filename including directory path
•
Data compression type
•
Date/time and repetition intervall for routine backup
•
Routine backup activated or deactivated
After first time installation of a Hicom APS the routine backup is deactivated and must be configured with the CHANGE command of AMO CDBR.
Because of the internal execution of AMO-VEGAS during a CDBR backup, all processors must be configured with an identical and valid system number.
For explicit backup you have the option to select a specific Hicom module, while at routine backup always the complete system is saved.
An explicit backup or restore can be cancelled via system logon by using the BREAK command.
In case of a restart during routine backup the routine backup is started again after restart is finished. A explicit backup is not started again in case of a restart.
