The lower the average and maximum delay is set, the more natural voice
transmission will sound to subscribers. However this increases the danger
of packet loss and in turn the danger of information loss and distortions.
Higher delay values mean less packets get lost, however, it takes longer
until a subscriber hears what the other subscriber is saying. Extensive
delays can lead to communication difficulties. The following diagram

When the HG 3500/75 board is being generated, generous values are
set with which most installations will start without any problem. In
many cases, these values can then be reduced selectively.
