2.3.1.2. Board Replacement Previous topic Parent topic Child topic Next topic

To replace an STMI/STMI2/STMI4 board please note the following:
  • Replace a “small“ STMI/STMI2/STMI4 with a “small“ STMI/STMI2/STMI4: no problem
  • Replace a “large“ STMI/STMI2/STMI4 with a “large“ STMI/STMI2/STMI4: no problem
  • Replace a “small“ STMI/STMI2/STMI4 with a “large“ STMI/STMI2/STMI4: no problem
  • Replace a “large“ STMI/STMI2/STMI4 with a “small“ STMI/STMI2/STMI4: only works if not more than 60 b-channels are used
Procedure:
  • Change the board.
  • It is not necessary to delete all circuits on the module and the module itself, but rather to change the part number with CHANGE-BCSU (if necessary).
CHANGE-BCSU:TYPE=PARTNO,LTG=<ltg>,LTU=<ltu>,SLOT=<slot>,PARTNO1=<part number of
board to be changed>,PARTNO2=<part number of new board>;
  • Restart the board with
RESTART-BSSU:ADDRTYPE=PEN,LTG=<ltg>,LTU=<ltu>,SLOT=<slot>;
SIP profile configuration including credentials for SIP Provider (where used) are stored on board/hardware (i.e. STMI2/STMI4/STMIX/STMIY and vSTMI on SoftGate). Please be aware when exchanging hardware to consider a “Factory Reset” from Web-Based Management prior to exchanging the board to ensure all private data is removed.
INFO:
Prior to this step is recommended to perform a HG3500 Backup to ensure the old data remains available for the new board that will be used.
