13.3.2.4. Replacement of a defect NCUI Board with a new NCUI Board Previous topic Parent topic Child topic Next topic

The golden load loadware of the NCUI board doesn’t support UDP functionality which is necessary for signaling survivability via alternate LAN. Thus the following steps have to be performed when replacing the board.
There are two possibilities:

Possibility 1:

  1. Copy the latest NCUI loadware to the new board before going in service with the board.
  2. Perform the board replacement as usual (see also “Gateways HG 3500 and HG 3575” > Section 3.2.2, “Exchanging Boards”).

Possibility 2:

  1. Delete the assignment of the concerned access point/OpenScape 4000 SoftGate to the survivability routers.
DELTE-APRT:TYPE=SURF,KONF=AP,LTU=<number>;
  1. Change signaling mode to HSRTCP.
CHANGE-UCSU:TYPE=AP,LTU=<number>,SIGMODE=HSRTCP;
  1. In order for this change to become effective, the access point/OpenScape 4000 SoftGate has to be restarted.
EXEC-USSU:TYPE=UPDATAP,LTU=<number>;
IMPORTANT:
Existing connections are cleared down without further warning!
  1. Put the new NCUI board in service (see “Gateways HG 3500 and HG 3575” > Section 3.2.2, “Exchanging Boards”).
  2. Change back to HSRUDP as signaling mode (see Section 3.1.1, “Configuring the OpenScape 4000”).
  3. Reconfigure the assignment of the survivability routers (see Section 3.1.1, “Configuring the OpenScape 4000”).
