ACD calls can be routed to PhoneMail via a Route-to-Group ART step. The Agents in the ACD PhoneMail group are associated with a specific trunk port in an ACD PhoneMail trunk group. Routing and queuing to an ACD PhoneMail group is the same as for normal ACD groups. The only difference is that specific Agent selection is performed based on the ACD PhoneMail trunk selection algorithm rather than the ACD group's Agent selection algorithm.
The PhoneMail service access number used to route calls to the PhoneMail Agent group is configured with the ACD group. This number must first be defined in AMO RICHT. Upon successful completion of a route to a PhoneMail Agent, the calling party display will be updated to show the DNI number followed by the NAME configured in RICHT associated with the PhoneMail group's service access number.
IMPORTANT:
If the PhoneMail service access number assigned to the Agent group is invalid, all attempts to route ACD calls to this PhoneMail Agent group will cause an error to be logged. Such failures cause ART processing to abandon further attempts to reach the PhoneMail Agent group for this call (i.e. no queuing to the group).
